"We're both imperfect. What a perfect match!"
A little pervert meets a real pervert. They're both taekwondo athletes. The top is pretentious, crazy, obsessed with beauty, and a bit of a princess. The bottom has a blood disorder. Updated daily at 3 p.m.
Feel free to bookmark my next two volleyball sports novels. Their blurbs are up, with previews below: My Setter Wins People Over with His Fists and I'm a Libero, I'll Take Any Hit.
The not-so-happy version:
When Jin Cheng loses his hearing and can't stop bleeding, with his body and mind both shattered by someone, the only things he remembers are the mouthguard Jiang Yan shoved into his mouth and the black belt in his hand.
The happy version:
Jin Cheng doesn't let anyone get the better of him. At four, he entered a taekwondo tournament for preschoolers, beat a five-year-old until he cried, then sat on his face and made him eat his own chubby little toes.
Afterward, the coaches uploaded a short video of him to the internet, making him the toughest and cutest little competitor of the year.
A serious hand enthusiast, he became obsessed in high school with a rope artist he found online. At college, he liked to chase handsome guys as a way to spice up his life, but always struck out. Then, on the very day he was feeling down about how the sports college had no eye for beauty, Jin Cheng sat down beside Jiang Yan, captain of the taekwondo team.
Jin Cheng thought he had this in the bag: I'm a pervert, a taekwondo black belt, and I can beat the whole team. You're gorgeous, so I'll take you on as my underling.
Jiang Yan: Oh, I'm so scared.
Jin Cheng: Behave, and I'll protect you.
Jiang Yan: Sure ^_^
Six months into the school year
Jin Cheng complained to his senior: "Chang, tell me, why does a perfectly good pervert like me keep getting owned?"
His senior thought: Maybe it's because there's a real pervert behind you...
Jiang Yan said nothing. He put his arm around the drunk Jin Cheng and took him back to the dorm.
Half an hour later
Jin Cheng woke up a little tipsy and spotted a familiar wooden box: it was the custom toolbox the rope artist had posted a picture of online a few days ago.
Jin Cheng looked at Jiang Yan. "Jiang Yan... you're such a pervert!"
Jiang Yan took out disinfectant wipes and began cleaning his hands. "Do you remember the taekwondo tournament for preschoolers when you were four? You knocked down a five-year-old boy and made him eat your toes?"
A few notes:
1. Tao Wenchang is straight, the kind of straight who could never be turned.
2. This is part of a sports series, but you can read it without reading the other books.
3. Neither the top nor the bottom is perfect.
Coming soon: My Setter Wins People Over with His Fists
A hot-headed, foul-mouthed opposite hitter top who'd rather throw a punch than argue, and a calm setter bottom who gets things done with his hands.
Li Jie and Lin Jianlu are both volleyball players, 206 and 198 centimeters tall. They go from sworn enemies to a couple.
Synopsis:
The reason Li Jie and Lin Jianlu became sworn enemies goes all the way back to when they were four.
The first time Li Jie saw Lin Jianlu, he mistook him for a girl because he looked like one. Their families joked that the two boys could have become relatives by marriage. That night, Li Jie stole his mother's five-carat diamond ring, crept into Lin Jianlu's bed, and slipped it onto his ring finger.
Four-year-old Lin Jianlu accepted it, then beat Li Jie until he cried.
By the next time Lin Jianlu saw Li Jie, Li Jie had become the opposite hitter for the rival volleyball team, while Lin Jianlu was his own team's setter. Before the match, Li Jie teased him for looking like a girl, with dewy eyes like a little deer.
Nine-year-old Lin Jianlu waited until the match ended, then pinned Li Jie to the volleyball court and beat him until he cried.
They fought their way through childhood together. Everyone saw them as sworn enemies, and their teams were rivals too. On the court, they spiked balls at each other. Off the court, they threw punches. They had a long history of bad blood.
Then one day, Lin Jianlu was subjected to unprecedented bullying and ostracism within his team, and injured his leg.
The volleyball prodigy fell from his pedestal. Suspended and treated with scorn, Lin Jianlu was in a sorry state, with nowhere to turn and repeated failed attempts to transfer. When he was at the end of his rope, the only team willing to take a chance on him was Li Jie's. It became his refuge.
On the day he went to sign in with his new team, Lin Jianlu stood alone at the door of Li Jie's team, using the last of his strength. His right knee and ankle were wrapped in thick bandages.
The door opened. Li Jie appeared right in front of him and looked at the sworn enemy who had grabbed him by the hair and beaten him mercilessly the last time they met. "Well, if it isn't the 'High-Speed Deer.' What happened to your hoof?"
Lin Jianlu coldly raised his middle finger. "Dumbass."
That day, they nearly got disciplined by the team for fighting.
Later, they nearly got disciplined by the team for making out.
In the end, Li Jie really was disciplined by the team, for fighting the opposing team's hitter after a match. In a fury, he beat the man until he couldn't lift his head. His eyes were bloodshot. "You're the one who almost got his leg broken, aren't you?"
No one dared to intervene. Only Lin Jianlu stepped forward and grabbed Li Jie by the collar. "Let go! We just won gold. Don't make me beat you up when I'm this happy."
Coming soon: I'm a Libero, I'll Take Any Hit
A frosty setter whose inner monologue scrolls like bullet comments, and a cheerful, brave libero who charges in first whenever there's trouble.
Both leads are volleyball players, 200 and 180 centimeters tall.
Synopsis:
Le Xinghui's family is a blended family. When he was three, his mother married his stepfather, who brought along a boy his age named Tao Zui. Tao Zui's personality was the opposite of his. Although they were both volleyball players, they were on different teams and had little to do with each other.
Le Xinghui thought Tao Zui disliked him, but still couldn't help falling for him in secret. In his first year of high school, he worked up the courage to write him a letter, only to be rejected.
Le Xinghui burst into tears. That summer, his mother and stepfather divorced, and Tao Zui left his life too.
The night before starting college, his mother called him into the living room. "Lele, there's something I need to tell you."
Le Xinghui was still smiling. "What is it? You're not getting married again, are you?"
His mother: "...I am."
Le Xinghui: "Then pick someone better this time!"
His mother: "...It's the same person. Your Uncle Tao and I got back together."
That night, Le Xinghui was thunderstruck. He blocked the doorway with his body and swore he wouldn't let Tao Zui into the house. They hadn't seen each other in over two years, and Tao Zui was now much taller than him, still as cold and taciturn as ever.
Le Xinghui: "You're not allowed in my room! You can't sleep in my bed! You used to look down on me for being short! You even called me 'Shorty'!"
Tao Zui took off his baseball cap and placed it on the head of Le Xinghui, who was 20 centimeters shorter. "Oh, I still do."
Not only that, Tao Zui enrolled at the same university and officially became his teammate.
As the team's libero, Le Xinghui faced unprecedented challenges. When everyone thought someone else was better suited for the position, the only person who stood behind him and unwaveringly chose him was Tao Zui.
Le Xinghui was overjoyed. That night, he climbed into Tao Zui's bed. "You're so good to me. How can you be so nice? From now on, I'll let you into my room and sleep in my bed! And I'll take any hit for you, stopping every ball and setting it just for you."
Tao Zui silently closed his eyes and kicked him off the bed. Le Xinghui cheerfully got back up, undeterred, and kept laying on the praise from the side of the bed.
A week later, Tao Zui, his face icy, stopped him outside the volleyball court. "The second and ninth balls in training last night weren't set to me."
Theme: Be good to each other, and have the courage to win gold medals.

Observation Diary: The first time I beat Jiang Yan and told him you were stupid I cried because of how cute the jumping children were. I remembered that there was a video competition of Taekwondo for children in the past. It was so cute. [Spread flowers]
