President Jing Ran Off with His Ex’s Baby

Updated daily at 3 p.m. The title is silly, but the story isn't. Current number of times we've entered the Citrus app: 45.

Two CEOs, both players, reunited after a breakup. Let's see who crashes and burns.

They fall in love at school in the first half, then as CEOs in the second. There are lots of pregnancy scenes featuring male moms. They aren't scientifically accurate, so don't take them seriously.

A warmhearted crybaby dog alpha who keeps going even when he can't catch his breath, asthma inhaler in hand, and a tsundere, flirtatious cat beta who can be sharp-tongued but spoils her husband to bits, happily bottoming for love.

As two players, they maintain all sorts of personas: a band's drummer and an infatuated little fan, a math genius and a dummy, a gaming pro and a noob, the white moonlight from a chance encounter ten years ago... They wear countless secret identities, only for both of them to get found out.

Synopsis:

Eight years ago, alpha Lu Chen was sprawled on top of beta Jing Cheng, panting and crying. Even with an asthma inhaler in hand, he insisted on carrying on. Jing Cheng looked helpless. "How have you still not finished...?" Then they broke up.

Eight years later, Lu Chen finally returns to Yanhai City. At his welcome-back party, he runs into Jing Cheng, his high school ex, whom he used to pin down and bite countless times, but could never mark.

"Long time no see. You haven't changed," Lu Chen says, deliberately brushing against Jing Cheng's luxury watch as they clink glasses.

"Really? You haven't changed much either. Your stamina's improved, though," Jing Cheng says, sliding the pointed toe of his dress shoe toward Lu Chen's thigh under the table.

"So you two know each other?" someone nearby asks.

"We don't," they say in unison.

After the party, Lu Chen corners Jing Cheng in the restroom. "Do I smell good? I put on cologne with the same scent as my pheromones."

Jing Cheng: "I can't smell it. We betas aren't affected by pheromones."

Lu Chen: "You're lying. I don't believe you. You..."

Jing Cheng: "Cut out that girl-talk nonsense."

Lu Chen: "So cold! I'm gonna cry... Is there another dog in your life?"

Jing Cheng: "Are you about to go into heat? Damn, alphas are such a pain."

A year later, someone interviews the two CEOs about how they got together.

Jing Cheng takes a drag on his cigarette and says coldly, "He clung to me and cried during his rut."

Lu Chen grins, touching the corner of his mouth. "I bit up a beta who doesn't even have a gland."

Please add these to your reading list:

"Twin Stars on the High Platform: The Champion Substitute," about a cool-headed diving team captain and a straightforward substitute team member. The partner I thought was my white moonlight turns out to be you.

"Hungry Ghost Dojo," an infinite-world horror novel about the grandmaster of the Hungry Ghost Path and his cross-dressing disciple bravely breaking evil spells.

Please note:

* This is an ABO setting. Alphas have ruts.

* Betas have neither ruts nor heats, and no matter how many times they're bitten, they can't be marked.

* I actually most wanted to call it "Whale Islet of Yanhai."
