Heroic Spirit Transformation System 3

[Pre-publication blurbs now available for My Boyfriend with a Mental Illness Turns Out to Be an Evil God and Does Having Mystic Eyes of Death Perception Make Me Ordinary?]

[The first part is a crossover with DC and Marvel, the second is a crossover with anime. You can enjoy this story without having read either.]

Shikiya, wielder of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, victor of several Holy Grail Wars, savior of countless worlds, veteran screenwriter, powerhouse actor, and king of secret identities, has been called back from retirement.

He once played King Arthur in a superhero world, used Mozart’s abilities to listen to concerts, flirted with the Queen of the Underworld as Merlin, faced the King of Conquerors in ancient Egypt under the name of Pharaoh, and saved human history as King Solomon…

After completing his missions, Shikiya finally came back to life. The System even threw in the strongest assassin for free: a father whose soul was still asleep, leaving only his body’s instincts behind.

To bring his father fully back to life, Shikiya has no choice but to keep taking on missions in other worlds, posing as all kinds of Heroic Spirits.

“I am the son of Izanami, goddess of the underworld. I’m not a cursed spirit.”

“I am Senji Muramasa… Not a Saniwa, just a swordsmith.”

“I am Voyager, currently traveling through space.”

…

The most troublesome part isn’t the missions. It’s his irrational father.

“I just went off on a mission and came back. How did Dad get lost again!?”

.

The story mostly follows Shikiya’s everyday life, with occasional trips to other worlds to save the day. A big crossover mash-up.

.

Reader’s guide:

1. No romance, and no one’s secret identity is exposed.

2. The first part is a crossover with DC and Marvel, the second is a crossover with anime. You can enjoy this story without having read either.

3. It features some nostalgic old anime and ideas that could have had their own stories, but I was too lazy to write them separately. Expect me to let loose.

4. Some settings and lines in the story are from FGO.

[The blurb for the danmei pre-publication title My Boyfriend with a Mental Illness Turns Out to Be an Evil God is now available!]

Chi Yu has always thought of himself as an ordinary person.

His biggest problem is that his boyfriend has seemed a little mentally unstable lately.

As for those urban legends about people who keep disappearing, or who suddenly reappear after vanishing for days with special abilities, none of that has anything to do with him.

Until one day, he accidentally stumbles into a battle between two ability users, and one of them turns pale with shock.

“Cease fire! He’s the beacon for the Fallen Dawn! If he gets hurt, that guy will go completely insane! Even the Main God ordered us not to touch him!”

Chi Yu: “…?”

Is this a spiritual qi revival story or an infinite-flow story? How come I’m the only one still living in a normal world?!

After asking around, Chi Yu learns that his boyfriend has become a god of calamity in another world, and Chi Yu is his mental beacon. Only with Chi Yu can his boyfriend maintain his sanity.

So, to keep the world from being destroyed, everyone begs Chi Yu not to upset his boyfriend and to soothe him instead.

Chi Yu: “…”

He glances at the breakup text he just sent.

After falling into another world, Shi Ziyan spent an age giving up his memories, his human identity, and everything else he could give up. When all he had left was the memory of having a lover, he finally returned to his original world.

He gathers information about his past, cleans up anomalies, and pretends in front of his lover that he hasn’t changed and that the world is still ordinary and peaceful.

“…All of you, stay invisible and keep hidden. Don’t scare him.”

After ordering the subordinates he brought back to this world, Shi Ziyan turns around and sees his lover looking at him, hesitant to speak.

His lover, who can only see him talking to himself, says, “I’m thinking of seeing a therapist. Why don’t you come with me? The second appointment is half price.”

Shi Ziyan: “…Sure.”

He thinks that as long as he tries hard enough, their everyday life can continue forever.

Until one day, he receives a breakup text from his lover.

Theme: Cherish the time you have with your family, before it’s too late.
