I Just Want Your Guide Pheromones

Hua Shanxiao’s first crush began in complete disaster: without either of them knowing, she and her best friend fell for the same person. The boy had no idea how Hua Shanxiao felt. He only saw her as a friend of the girl he liked. Hua Shanxiao soon realized someone else was in the same predicament. Yi Cheng was an old friend of her crush and was hopelessly in love with her best friend. Before long, the four of them had quietly split into two pairs: the leads of a youthful rom-com in their budding romance, and two allies bound by unspoken, one-sided love. Then an unexpected Sentinel-Guide heat left Hua Shanxiao waking up in Yi Cheng’s room. Help, the unrequited-love alliance has changed into something else. · To Yi Cheng a year earlier, falling for Hua Shanxiao was about as likely as February having a thirtieth day: A day that would never come, an impossibility. Hua Shanxiao falling for him could only happen on February 30. Until February 30 came. The distance from an unrequited-love alliance to becoming lovers * A near-future Sentinel-Guide setting with plenty of original worldbuilding. Male Guide x female Sentinel. You don’t need to know the setting to enjoy the story. * A sweet-and-sour coming-of-age romance with a happy ending. * Only the opening of Chapter 1 is told through forum posts. The rest is not in first person. * The first six chapters move quickly and have a light-novel style; the writing changes from Chapter 7 onward. * This story focuses less on plot. The heroine is a Sentinel with sharp senses, not a combat specialist. For a powerful female Sentinel and male Guide pairing, see my completed series Go to the Sentinel Tower. * Bonus chapters 56–60 feature the older side couple and can be read as a standalone story. Coming soon: Reborn by My Nemesis, We Got Our Happy Ending Ganye and Alo are known throughout the magical world as mortal enemies. Noble heiress and heir to the classical school, Ganye: Mages should stand elegantly in the back and toss fireballs or cast grand summoning spells. Inventions without the support of ancient mysteries are nothing but cheap tricks. Self-made pioneer of mechanical ascension, Alo: Mages who can’t fight at close range have no future. There’s nothing a magic cannon can’t solve with one shot. If one shot isn’t enough, fire another. Their academic disagreement turned personal. Ganye thought Alo was frivolous, while Alo mocked Ganye for putting on airs. Whenever they met, they argued bitterly. The two sworn enemies were unexpectedly caught up in the same conspiracy and trapped in a poisonous otherworld where every breath cost them health. Ganye looked at the magical beast guarding the exit, at Alo without his weapon, then at her own frail body. She was practically out of health; another couple of steps and she’d be done for. But that annoying guy, who could take out a goblin with one punch, might last long enough for the exit to open. So Ganye cast a sphere of light around Alo and lifted her chin with a smile. “I’ll show you fireworks you’ll never forget.” She turned and activated her clan’s forbidden art, burning up her magic to die alongside the giant beast. But Ganye didn’t stay dead. To be precise, she died and was brought back to life. The spirit-summoning ritual that resurrected her was so flawlessly done that Ganye, a mage of the strictest orthodoxy, was astounded. She sat up in her crystal coffin, thrilled, and wanted to shake hands with the caster for an academic discussion. Then she recognized the caster’s face. Ganye: Why is it you?! #My nemesis changed careers to study classical spirit-summoning magic just to bring me back to life. What do I do when I wake up and find him staring at me with a chilling look? Theme: Be kind to yourself and others. Mutual understanding brings happiness.
