After Being Picked Up by Verlaine

[There are other stories on my profile, too. If any catch your interest, feel free to add them to your collection!]

Ye Yue was picked up by a man named Verlaine, a handsome blond man with graceful poise.

In a voice as rich and sonorous as a cello, the man told her:

She wasn't human.

It sounded like an insult, but Ye Yue didn't think that mattered.

Gazing at Verlaine's breathtakingly beautiful face, she secretly vowed to make this beauty hers.

After she succeeded, various circumstances forced her to keep her beauty hidden away in a golden house.

Then came the problem: keeping a beauty hidden away was all well and good, but first she needed money.

So she decided:

"Today, I'm starting a company. We'll call it Nine Lives Meow-Meow!"

She picked up a calico cat passing by and posed it like the Lion King.

Verlaine: Hmm? Not bad.

Ranpo: Oh, that's impressive.

Oda Sakunosuke: Oh, we'll need to buy cat food, right?

Ango: Why did you register the company under my name?!

Mushitaro: Oh ho, so this is the new company protecting me?

Yokomizo: My, how interesting.

Edgar Allan Poe: I-I have to join too? Well, all right...

Sasazuki: I will obey the Cult Leader's every command!

Kajii: Wait, if I'm part of the company, why have I never gotten paid?!

Chuuya's little brother, passing by: Why... doesn't anyone say the name is weird?

One day, Ye Yue gave her employees some good news.

"Everyone, we're teaming up with a government department to save Yokohama."

The employees were shocked. "Are we really such a righteous company?"

Ye Yue nodded. "That's right. Our mission is to kill Fukuchi."

The employees were even more shocked. "You mean the hero Fukuchi? No, no, we take back what we said. Is the government really such a sinister organization?"

Ango: Hey!

Ye Yue: "Anyway, that's how it is. We're all in this together now, so we might as well get to work. Let's do our best for a brighter tomorrow, and so I can travel the world with my sweetheart."

The employees were furious. "The important part is that you get to travel the world with your sweetheart!"
