Bonus Question (ABO)

(The outline is mostly settled, but the blurb may still be revised at any time.) When Xu Jiawen was a first-year high school student, he signed up for the biology competition on a whim. Through sheer luck, he guessed the answer to the final bonus question, and the school sent him off with great fanfare to the provincial competition training camp. Xu Jiawen knew he was a bona fide dead-last student. He hadn't wanted to go embarrass himself, but his mom kicked him in the butt and sent him straight to the provincial team’s summer training camp. That year's biology competition was extremely difficult. Only two people in the entire province solved the bonus question, and one of them ended up sharing a dorm room with Xu Jiawen. Xu Jiawen knocked on the dorm room door, expecting to see a cold, brilliant top student... ...And while the guy really was cold, and really was a brilliant top student, Xu Jiawen never expected the person who solved the bonus question to be like this. Qi Yan lifted his eyelids and glanced at Xu Jiawen. "I won't share a dorm with someone who guessed the bonus question." "Oh," Xu Jiawen said, setting down his luggage. "Then just don't treat me like a person." Qi Yan: ... Only later did Xu Jiawen learn that this weirdo Qi Yan had only done that one bonus question on the entire test. When Xu Jiawen returned from the competition training camp, the homeroom teacher looked at his near-perfect scores in every subject except Chinese and asked the question of the century: "Did your biology competition training also cover math, physics, chemistry, and English?" Xu Jiawen: "I wasn't trying to score this high." Homeroom teacher: "????" Xu Jiawen: "But someone said I couldn't share a dorm with him if my grades weren't good." Before meeting Qi Yan, Xu Jiawen thought he would never touch a bonus question in his life. But after meeting Qi Yan, Xu Jiawen started writing "Solution" on bonus questions. Xu Jiawen knew that as long as he wrote down a problem for Qi Yan to solve, no matter how hard it was, Qi Yan would definitely solve it. A seemingly aloof and antisocial academic god who gets way too invested in solving problems and everything he does (Qi Yan) * A seemingly unmotivated but actually hardworking academic fraud of a student (Xu Jiawen) Warning: ...There don't really seem to be any. It's just an ordinary sweet story about two handsome guys falling in love. Important note: The one getting pursued is an academic fraud. He'll do two tons of problems, then cry that he wasted three years and still won't get into college. The one pursuing him will actually believe him. The academic fraud solved the bonus question himself, but insists on telling everyone that this beautiful correct answer was just a fluke ().
