First Love at the Turn of the Millennium

One second before midnight on January 1, 2000, I was born. Three hours later, someone was born in the delivery room next door.

More than 8,760 hours later, I stood in front of him and confessed my feelings.

My confession was: "You're my first love across the millennium."

He smiled and said, "That's so cheesy. Why not call me your millennium first love?"

I said, "Sure."

Six hours later, he rejected me. Sixteen hours after that, I was standing on a rooftop, with police officers below shouting up at me.

He said, "Young man, I checked. You come from a good family. You could say you're incredibly wealthy. You're six foot two, the top scorer in the whole city on the college entrance exam, and you've been the school's heartthrob since you were a kid. Girls have been chasing you since you were thirteen. What on earth could you possibly be so upset about?"

I said, "My millennium first love rejected me."

The police officer said, "It's 2024. What are you even talking about?!"

Note: The year 2000 is also known as the millennium year.
