A problem with Flying Thunder God caused Senju Changqing, who had worked hard to build a max-level ninja account in the ninja world, to transmigrate for a second time. He discovered that not only had he become a child, but his chakra had also been sealed.
Fortunately, this world didn't seem dangerous. After decades of hard work, was he finally going to have a lazy life?
The only problem was that people kept saying how cute he was... Senju Changqing, whose mental age was older than anyone's, had nothing to say.
Then a demon suddenly appeared and splashed blood all over him.
Senju Changqing, struck down in an instant: "..."
A lazy life was out of the question. He'd better get back to training.
And so, in the Taisho era, someone hailed as a bug in the Demon Slayer Corps began to make a name for himself. He could beat demons and get along with monsters, wielded Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu like a pro, and could even open a popular shop in Taisho-era Japan. He could stretch and pull ramen noodles without breaking a sweat.
After a few hard years, Changqing became the best ninja in Taisho at stretching ramen... No, he became one of the Nine Pillars in the Demon Slayer Corps.
Then, halfway through the story, he was sent back to the ninja world.
Changqing: "You can't do this to me! This cliffhanger is going to make people spit blood!"
That wasn't even the worst part. The worst part was that as soon as Changqing returned, he discovered that the peace he'd worked for decades to achieve by holding back the other ninja villages had fallen apart. The happy ending he'd worked so hard to bring about was in shambles, and the younger generation was lining up to go straight into the arms of the Grim Reaper.
...I can't live like this!
The progenitor of demons, stuck between monsters, a god wielding a Zanpakuto, and a ninja who had regained his strength and could summon a tsunami with a wave of his hand, said, "I'm the one who can't live like this!"
[Upcoming story, available on my author page. A derivative work with no romance:
Always Mistaken for a Tragic Hero on the App, originally titled I Got a Detective App and Tore the Plot to Shreds]
After transmigrating, Aotori Shou got a linked app called the Detective App.
The app came with a detective game, a research forum for the detective world, and all sorts of other features.
The character in its detective-themed Mario game was actually one of his classmates. The available candidates in the detective-themed virtual pet game even included a hard worker from a certain liquor factory, and even Angry Birds had turned into an epic battle between the red and black sides.
He'd thought the app was just for casual games, but then the System told Aotori Shou that if he completed missions in the detective world and a topic about him topped the final vote, he would be rewarded with a full resurrection.
To stay alive, Aotori Shou put on his secret identities and worked himself to the bone.
His dear friend from the police academy class disappeared in the winter of their first year, becoming a ray of sunshine from the past that could never be touched again.
The top manipulator and scholar Granvitte ultimately died because of the sorrowful nature of humanity.
The liquor factory's most unhinged undercover agent gave everything to protect justice, never living to see the dawn he had brought about himself.
Before they knew that all three were Aotori Shou's secret identities, the forum was stunned by the new alternate-timeline manga.
[Forum:
I have every reason to suspect that Shou and Granvitte were both killed by Uzo. Sob, give me back these two favorites!
Did Uzo seriously expose everyone's secret identities? Could he really say Toru's real name in front of Gin?
The way Uzo, that troublemaking spectator, seems to control everything makes it hard not to wonder if he's connected to the liquor factory's boss!
I'm here after a second read to quietly say: for every time you're calling this guy a bastard now, you'll cry about him later...
?!!! What... what do you mean?!]
Aotori Shou managed to make everyone's misunderstandings and their tragic-hero assumptions about him snowball into countless forum threads, and the votes shot up.
Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, he received a private message from the app.
[Following the official vote, the topics #Liquor Factory Boss Uzo and #EverydayCheckInToBringAotoriShouBackToLife have both met the conditions for completion. App holder, please prepare--]
Aotori Shou: Wait, both at once?! You've got to be kidding!
I didn't want everyone to misunderstand me this much!
