The Duchess of the Chief Eunuch Is a Brilliant Actress

The powerful eunuch Yan Wenhan ruled for six years and saw three emperors die.

The disgraced prince dragged back from exile became the unlucky fourth. Accompanying him into the palace was an empress who practiced Buddhism without taking vows and refused to return to secular life.

The empress was beautiful, but like a jade statue of a Bodhisattva untouched by the mortal world. Anyone who associated her with worldly affairs seemed to be committing blasphemy.

The demon who crawled out of hell to claim a life had once sought nothing more than the collapse of the empire and the destruction of the land. But a desire to profane the divine had secretly begun to take root in his heart.

After the emperor died, Yusheng became the empress dowager and tried to fake her death and escape the palace. She was just one step away from freedom when someone stopped her at the side gate. Madness and desire burned in the newcomer's gloomy eyes, yet he gently lifted a lock of her hair. “Your Highness is compassionate and merciful. Would you be willing to stay and save me?”

Qi Yusheng: “What if I say no?”

Yan Wenhan: “Then I’ll have the empire buried with Your Highness.”

Everyone said that the empress dowager had become the eunuch’s companion just to keep the young emperor alive, and that she had truly endured great humiliation for his sake.

When Yusheng heard this, she thought that rather than saying she had offered herself to save a wicked ghost, it was more accurate to say that the ghost had dragged her into the mortal world. This world was enchanting and beautiful, except...

She pushed at Yan, the Chief Eunuch, whose head was buried against her neck. It was no use.

It was just a little exhausting.

Novel blurb divider

Chief Eunuch X female merchant

The old blurb was too cringe, so I deleted it.

He’s a real eunuch, but only the O was cut, not the X, so you get it.
