[□□ Machine] Fallen

At the end of the long years comes the ending I chose.

And you, who gave it meaning, never once turned back to look at me.

"Dust mingles with the light, just to see you smile that once..."

Reader's notes:

1. This was the result of a sudden burst of inspiration. I was so smitten with the little fairy that I couldn't help putting pen to paper. It's a short story of over 9,000 words, just practice.

2. I've only watched two seasons of the anime, and I made up some details myself. Those who insist on scrutinizing the canon, please move along. I'll do my best to keep the characters in character, because I love that little fairy so much.

3. This should count as having no pairing. I'm still upset that the princess didn't end up with the little fairy. The overall tone is rather somber, and the ending is tragic. If that's not your thing, proceed with caution. And if you do read it, please don't flame me. I'm extremely sensitive!
