Football: Becoming a Legend in Milan

At fourteen, the mixed-race boy Alessio was cast aside by Carrington and found his way to Milanello. He had just one goal: to make the first team. From frail to strong, from the youth academy to the San Siro, he would witness the birth of legends, experience both triumphs and setbacks, lift trophy after trophy alongside his teammates, and endure defeat, injury, and loss. He grew through every training session, match, and setback, and found friendship, family, and love in Milan. This is the story of a boy becoming a legend, and a story about football and growing up. This is Alessio’s life, and a long letter I dedicate to that era of football. 1. This is the kind of football story I like, written for my own enjoyment. I’m indulging myself, and I’ve done some research, though perhaps not as much as I should. Comments and corrections are welcome. 2. Alessio will lose. He definitely will. Not every regret can be undone. 3. Pairing: Maldini. Five-year age gap. 4. A very long time span, from 1987 to around 2010. (The author is already regretting this. I guess when you’re writing your first novel, you don’t know your limits and have no idea how much work you’re taking on... Looking at it now, the finish line is nowhere in sight...) 5. I’ll try to update daily. Unless something comes up, updates will be at 8 p.m. Theme: Making dreams come true
