Behind the Mask [Criminal Investigation]

Deep in the city, crime is tangled in a web of corruption.

Drugs, violence, death, spreading rapidly like bacteria.

Zhuo Fan is the captain of Meihai City's anti-narcotics unit, and a legendary figure within the anti-narcotics force.

The day he reunited with Zhou Xingye, Zhou Xingye was busy catching a pickpocket and asked to borrow his handcuffs.

The next time they met was at the police station. Zhou Xingye had been appointed captain of the criminal investigation unit, and asked him for five yuan to buy breakfast.

Just like when they were at school, every time they met, Zhou Xingye was borrowing something from him.

Zhuo Fan turned a blind eye, and everyone thought the two of them didn't get along.

Cases kept piling up.

A deranged woman in a village stumbled upon a terrifying secret. A superstar who seemed to have it all revealed a twisted, shameful side behind his mask. A seemingly harmless delivery man had a private identity that chilled people to the bone...

None of these cases could escape the reach of a new type of drug.

The anti-narcotics unit and the criminal investigation unit joined forces to investigate, bringing Zhuo Fan and Zhou Xingye together as partners once more after many years.

Only then did everyone realize that no one knew them better than they knew each other.

At crime scenes, Zhuo Fan made sure to prepare a mask for Zhou Xingye.

Zhou Xingye was always smiling when he teased him: "Working a case with you is so much easier."

Whenever that happened, Zhuo Fan chose to ignore him.

Zhou Xingye remembered Zhuo Fan's tastes. After every stretch of overtime, he would order him a bowl of his favorite wontons.

Then, whenever Zhuo Fan tried to pay him back, he'd smile and say, "No need to keep track between brothers."

One day, Zhuo Fan took off the icy mask he'd worn for so long. Dead drunk, he asked Zhou Xingye, "Is there nothing to talk about but cases? How about dating?"

Everyone wears a heavy mask, and they were no exception.

After taking off his mask, Zhuo Fan leaped off a cliff to catch a drug dealer.

Later, Zhuo Fan discovered that Zhou Xingye without his mask was even more unhinged than he was.

Everyone goes through life wearing a mask. Can you tell whether there's a person or a monster beneath it?

What kind of seeds are ignorant people planting today, as they pretend not to know?

Purple flowers bloomed across the mountains, and drugs began to quietly spread across the land.

When a new kind of drug appeared in this land, how could the anti-narcotics heroes who died in the line of duty rest in peace?

In this smoke-filled battle, the only way to survive was to wear a mask.

They held up the sky over Meihai City with their shoulders.

Perfectionist, icy on the outside but secretly unhinged shou X Carefree, irreverent gong who's even more unhinged than he seems

I'm terrible at blurbs. This is a draft and may change.
