[Mysterious Lotus Casebook Fanfic] Grandpa Shen Won't Retire

I am a ginseng spirit who has lived for 1,800 years, known in the martial world as "a walking all-purpose tonic."

To escape the cultivators who wanted to take a bite out of me every day, I plunged into a spacetime vortex and landed in the world of Mysterious Lotus Casebook.

The moment I arrived, I ran into Li Lianhua, who had been poisoned for years. He was so poor he could barely afford to eat, and the poison would kill him the following year.

I did the math and figured living with him would save me rent, so I shamelessly latched on.

To keep him alive, but without having to chop off my own roots, I turned back into my true form each night while he slept.

Then I served him the water I'd soaked in overnight, along with the water I'd washed my feet in, and brought it right to his lips.

I thought I'd get away with it without anyone noticing, but who knew...

The dog he raised stared at me every day like I was a giant walking radish.
