[Fantastic Beasts Fanfiction] Newt Scamander and His Short-Tempered Keeper

Lin Zhao transmigrates to New York in 1926 as a No-Maj, so poor that all she has left is a sharp tongue.

Desperate to make money, she corners an Englishman who looks easy to bully. "What's in that lousy suitcase of yours? Smuggling pets across the border? Pay up, or I'll call the cops!"

The timid Newt Scamander stammers in fright. "P-please keep your voice down. You'll scare them..."

Lin Zhao: ??? Who am I scaring?

Only when the lid opens does a twelve-foot Thunderbird poke its head out and politely nod to her.

Later...

Newt: "Her eyes are so bright when she swears."

Lin Zhao: "What the hell did you just say?"

Newt: "I like hearing you swear."

Lin Zhao: "..."

Later still, the entire wizarding world knows that the socially anxious magizoologist who writes books married a foul-mouthed No-Maj. Oh, no, a mysterious woman of unknown identity.

They say their token of love was a button.

They say their wedding vows were, "Who objects?"

They say the bravest thing Newt Scamander ever said was, "She's got a mouth on her, but the animals like her."

Hot-tempered heroine x socially anxious hero

From extortion to growing old together, all it takes is a suitcase full of fantastic beasts.

Theme: Always love life.
