The Outer God Is Out of Service [Lord of the Mysteries]

What’s it like to transmigrate into the world of Lord of the Mysteries and start out as an Old One? Thanks for asking. I’m up in the cosmos, hanging around. Every day I twist and crawl, roar, and sleep. When I wake up, I fight my Old One siblings, get beaten up by my mother, wonder what the source qualities taste like, and lick Earth through the barrier now and then. Have you made any plans for the future? I have, brother, I have. I’ve successfully landed, and I feel great. My next dream is to go to Backlund and run a café. I’ll open the door to find nothing but ridiculously expensive coffee, the owner, the owner’s friends, and a dog. Of course, I don’t have any friends yet, so I’ve invited six of Amon’s avatars… As for the dog, I’ll borrow Miss Justice’s for now. We’re practically coworkers, and organization members should help one another, so she won’t refuse. By the way, speaking of organization members, friend, please allow me a few minutes to introduce our beacon and savior, the great Mr. Fool! He exists in the past, the present, and the future. He is … The Fool, sleeping Klein [sits up in his coffin]: No! Who’s ringing the bell? Samuel Avista, formerly known as the High-Dimensional Overseer. An overwhelmingly powerful, fully automated troublemaker, a madman and an artist, and a devoted admirer of eldritch cuisine. He’s currently having a splendid time playing a role in Backlund. Klein (with a mask of shame): …What on earth are you playing at? Samuel (drawing a holy emblem) (raising a black cat): I’m playing the dimensional angel at the Fool’s side. Praise the Fool! The Door! A sweet little story with a lighthearted tone. The male lead is a huge, composite half-Maine-Coon, half-cow cat who’s completely insane and hits like a truck. The High-Dimensional Overseer starts out as an Old One, and is half-mad early on, with a very robotic feel. The story is basically all Lord of the Mysteries, so let’s happily forget Circle of Inevitability exists. The High-Dimensional Overseer will use the original setting, but since it’s only broadly described, I’ll fill in the gaps and make changes. The original belongs to Cuttlefish, while any out-of-character moments are mine. Theme: Hard work and dedication will always pay off
