Sunken Scales in the Bronze Sea

Investment banking moneymaker gong x genius antique-book restoration shou

As the bronze tide of commercial civilization sweeps everything away, some ancient scales choose to sink into the depths of time, protecting the light that must not be extinguished.

Lu Jingxing, a capital operator returning from Wall Street, is assigned to "revitalize" an antique-book restoration workshop on the brink of closure. He arrives with a flawless business plan: monetize traffic, develop IP, and create cross-industry collaborations, using efficiency and rules to reshape tradition.

Shen Yunxin is the last guardian of Tingyun Studio, a century-old workshop. His world consists only of paper that lasts a thousand years and ink that endures through the ages. He firmly believes restoration gives damaged manuscripts a second life, rather than turning them into carefully calculated performances.

Their first confrontation ends badly.

He sees the other as a cold, heartless profiteer.

The other thinks he is a stubborn old relic.

But the harsh realities they face and the crisis looming over them bind their fates together. A government grant project essential to the workshop's survival becomes the only reason they have to work together.

As their clashing ideals meet the struggle to preserve a dying craft, and as they immerse themselves in ancient pages and quiet moments, two people from different worlds find in each other the very things they lack.

He teaches him that some souls cannot be assigned a price.

He shows him that there is a wider world beyond passion and principle.

This is not only a clash between business and idealism, but also a resonance across time. When an ancient craft encounters modern business logic, and a proud guardian meets a capitalist trendsetter, can they find a new course for Tingyun Studio amid the tides of the times?

A bond that begins with mutual gain and ends in a life together slowly unfolds...
