How Am I Supposed to Survive as R’s Younger Sister?

The commissioned Reborn artwork is out. Find it on the site with the same name and profile picture. (Announcement: This novel will enter the paid section starting 10/13. Chapters 27–38 will be locked retroactively, so if you're following along, be careful not to buy the wrong chapters. New chapters start at Chapter 39.) After completion, 80% of the novel will be behind an advance-reader paywall. The bonus chapters have a minimum subscription rate of 60%, so those of you who have been following along should still be able to read them. Please support the official release. Welcome to the real-life story of a miserable 21st-century medical student who is born into 20th-century Italy. A gangster dad, a hitman big brother, and a mom born with supernatural powers. I feel like Alice, tumbling down a rabbit hole and struggling to survive. Still, I've been lucky. Mom loves me, even if gentle, beloved people always die young. My hitman brother took me to see fireworks, and after they faded, I caught a glimpse of a corner of this world. Flames, illusions, curses. Well, if even watered-down Meng Po soup exists, what could be impossible? Great, I've survived another day. Also known as: If I Can Survive, I Will; If I Can't, So Be It, and On the Diversity of Species in Another World Probably updated daily, around 8 p.m. I'll post a notice if anything comes up. Content warnings: First-person narration, lots of headcanons, my take on Reborn, and elementary-school-level writing. The pacing is as flat as water. The heroine is very weak early on, and, well, she doesn't get that strong later either. There is a Mary Sue element. The heroine is six years younger than R. No need to tell me if you're dropping the story. The writing is plain, so cut your losses in time. This is purely familial, with a heroine who prefers to lie flat and make snarky comments. (She'll gradually grow under R's training later on.) I changed the blurb. Ugh, I'm terrible at writing these. () A preview of my next story: Another Day of Losing My Hearing in Varia The heroine grows over time, with deaf-mute and word-spirit powers. Blurb: After landing in Sicily, Svela couldn't hear, didn't speak the language, and couldn't even talk freely. She felt the world's malice toward her. While helping the children in the slums steal medicine, she unexpectedly teamed up with a red-eyed boy and even revealed her trump card: word spirits. To protect herself, Svela decided to secretly keep an eye on him. And, well, out of kindness, she also helped him deal with some of his enemies... Svela always felt as though he was treating her like a lackey. Well, as a deaf-mute teacher from the future, she would be patient with every child. Except... Svela: “You mean to say I've spent all this time planning your coup and handling every detail afterward, and now you're telling me you're not going to take the throne?” Xanxus: “Quit talking nonsense, trash. Do as I say.” Svela: (smiles as if dead) “No, you are taking the throne. I said so.” Content warnings: Svela and Young Xanxus knew each other as children, a childhood-sweethearts story, but there is no romance in the main story! The author loves platonic relationships. They're more like unconventional siblings (?), even though Svela is younger than X... Svela has a gentle, motherly personality, though she can get angry when provoked. She has a special ability, word spirits. Her deafness is permanent. Fuyi, a character from the previous story, will appear. All the protagonists of my Reborn stories share one world!
