"Life is hard, but we have to keep going. I hope their story can offer a moment of warmth and healing." Akiya lost his memories from before the age of ten and arrived in the city of Yokohama carrying a notebook. He was adopted by the kind old Mr. Sakuraba, who ran a secondhand bookstore. Akiya worked there, hoping to earn enough to open a flower shop, and happened to meet a (self-proclaimed) little friend along the way. Looking at the (self-proclaimed) little friend hanging from the beam of his family's bookstore, Sakuraba Akiya said gently, "Dazai, please don't do that in our bookstore. It'll hurt business." The local bandage-wearing suicide enthusiast said, "But this beam looks like it would work..." Sakuraba Akiya replied, "You'll only make yourself suffer more before your life is over." Dazai: "..." There was no getting through to this earnest airhead. Years later, someone rested his head on Sakuraba Akiya's lap and sighed, "This is the life." 1. This is not a power fantasy, and the protagonist can't save all of humanity. 2. But he'll work hard to grow and protect the people he loves. 3.
