Reborn in the Xing'an Mountains: The Entire Forest Is My Hunting Ground

Sheng Helin, a sixty-two-year-old forest ranger, spent his whole life guarding the Greater Khingan Mountains and bearing a lifetime of regrets.

His childhood friend was left disabled because of him. His childhood sweetheart was married off to another family and died in childbirth. The two families never spoke again. Alone, he grew old in a forest ranger's cabin.

When he opened his eyes again, he was back after the first snowfall of 1982.

At the fateful wild boar hunt that had changed his life, the boar that had nearly killed them all was charging straight at him.

In this life, armed with forty-four years of hunting experience, he felled his foe with a single strike.

He hunted squirrels with a slingshot, black bears in the snow, and sika deer with a water-cooled rifle. One man, one gun, his childhood friend, and a hunting dog: together they carved a path through the snowy forests.

Sable pelts, lynx pelts, bear gallbladders, deer antlers... Every inch of snow in the old forest was his hunting ground.

Everyone in the village said, “That Sheng boy must have the eyes of a god.”

Only Sheng Helin knew the truth: he hadn't gained supernatural sight. He had returned with the life he lived before, to repay the debts of this one.

The old hunter's comeback begins with the first snowfall in the Greater Khingan Mountains.
