A Northeast Mountain Hunter Reborn

Ye Bufan died.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year in 2026, a blizzard sealed off the Greater Khingan Mountains. The fifty-seven-year-old forest ranger drank himself to death on the kang in his dilapidated cabin.

His final thought was of the first snowfall of 1981. At seventeen, he had sneaked into the mountains with his childhood friend Lin Youqian to hunt wild boar. They didn't get the boar, and Youqian was badly injured. From then on, their families grew estranged. Later, Lin Youlan was forced into a marriage exchange and died in childbirth. He had made a fortune, then lost his family fortune, and spent half his life destitute, with no wife or children.

When he opened his eyes again, he was face-down in a snowdrift, trembling all over. Beside him was seventeen-year-old Lin Youqian, and in the distance a half-grown wild boar was rooting through the snow.

All the remorse, longing, and mountain-hunting experience from the forty-five years of his previous life had returned.

This time, he gripped his hunting knife and directed the hunting dogs, killing the boar with a single blow.

From then on, the entire Greater Khingan Mountains became his hunting ground. He hunted wild boars, trapped sable, and hunted black bears. He sold pelts to buy hunting rifles and led both families to a better life. The scent of stewed meat filled the village, the kang burned hot, and his parents' laughter rang out.

But the person he most wanted to protect was the girl standing in the snow, blushing as she called him "Brother."

Lin Youlan.

The person he had wronged for an entire lifetime in his previous life.

This time, he would marry her and keep her warm by the kang for the rest of her life.
