The Introvert's Oracle

Lin Mo is a seasoned social phobe who rehearses a conversation three times before even buying water at a convenience store. His world consists of headphones, books, and avoiding eye contact. He's so kind that he feels guilty over stepping on a fallen leaf, and his greatest wish is to fade into the background of the city. But a strange gray rain blanketing the globe changed everything. The rain brought no dampness; instead, it drained away every sound, plunging the world into the panic of a sudden silence. Stranger still, Lin Mo discovered that he was the only exception. He could hear sounds, and he even began to hear the desperate screams and tides of pain inside other people's hearts. A mysterious being calling itself the Observer told him that this silent plague was the awakening of an ancient malice, and that only the purest resonance between hearts could heal the world. And so, this young man, who found talking to strangers harder than facing the apocalypse, was forced to set out on a path to save the world. He had to enter the heart of the crowd, listen to its deepest suffering, and use his meager courage and innate kindness to answer, connect, and awaken a silent world.
