Footprints at the End of Time

The day gray mist swallowed the stars, the gods let out their final cries from beyond the sky and fell as a rain of blood. The old order and its faith shattered like glass. Terrifying creatures known as the "Myriapods" crawled out of the depths of the earth, the deep sea, and even the ruins humanity had abandoned. They clad themselves in steel, fed on flesh, and built nests from the remains of civilization. In a world soaked in despair, humanity was no longer the master of all creation, but prey huddling in the shadows and struggling to survive. Bai Qi wakes alone amid ruins piled with corpses, clutching a twisted divine bone that seems to still pulse. He remembers nothing of his past, but knows two things: the instinct to kill is carved into his bones, and the all-devouring Myriapods look at him with a hint of fear. While the survivors pray or fight over a mouthful of clean water, he ventures alone into the depths of the gray mist. This is no path to survival, but a hunter's trail. The gods are dead, and his twilight has only just begun.
