The Nine-Tailed Fox of Mount Qingcheng

The Nine-Tailed Fox of Qingcheng Mountain weaves a strange and sweeping tale of Buddhas, immortals, demons, and ordinary mortals, following the trials and tribulations of the fox spirit Qing Li. Though delicate and frail, each new streak of blood-red at the tip of her tail bears witness to another collapse of human decency: lust concealed beneath prayers in Buddhist halls, demon-slaying in immortal sects used to make youth-preserving medicine, mountain spirits revealing their vicious nature even as they follow her, and mortals digging up graves for jade, offering foxes to immortals, or demanding hearts for medicine.

Qing Li's pitiful beauty is both a blade and a shackle. Unwittingly, she tears away sacred masks, revealing the demons' struggles and the world's descent into depravity. From the paths of Qingcheng Mountain to the turmoil of the capital, betrayal and redemption intertwine. At last, amid a mystery that upends all convention, the story asks the ultimate question of good and evil, righteousness and wickedness: With all living beings trapped by desire, who can remain untouched?

Yin Qianrou's family was wiped out by hypocritical cultivators for guarding a secret treasure, and her path of revenge intertwines with the trio's mission to protect it. From Ling Xi and Shen Qingci's awkward teamwork when Mo Li launches a surprise attack, to the climactic battle sparked when Yin Qianrou breaks the seal with a blood sacrifice, murals in a secret chamber reveal the hidden connection between Kunlun and the Bloodshadow Sect.

Ling Xi grows through misunderstanding, Shen Qingci questions whether the righteous path is truly righteous, and Daoist Master Qingxuan struggles between tradition and truth. As prejudice collides with truth, the story sketches the complexities of human nature in a world of immortals and martial heroes.
