Water Margin Legend

Inspired by Water Margin, Water Margin Legends follows the Liangshan heroes on their path to forming a brotherhood. From Grand Commandant Hong mistakenly releasing the demons and setting events in motion, to Shi Jin traveling through Huayin by night, Lu Tixia beating Zhenguanxi to death with his fists, Lin Jiaotou braving a snowstorm at the Mountain God Temple, Chao Tianwang cleverly seizing the birthday gifts, and Song Gongming killing Yan Poxi in a fit of rage, the story follows a host of heroes who are driven to resist after being oppressed by corrupt officials and framed by treacherous villains.

The work carries on the original’s central theme of “forcing the people to rebel against the authorities.” Through detailed accounts of the heroes’ backgrounds and struggles, it reveals both their chivalrous spirit and their helpless plight, gradually depicting how the Liangshan brotherhood comes together and raises the banner of “Heaven’s will, the people’s way,” while highlighting the fate of heroes and the upheavals of their age.
