Echoes from the Abyss: A Female Detective Tackles a String of Cases

Beneath the glittering neon of a bustling city, undercurrents surge. The emergence of a series of dismemberment murders shatters the peace of Xinggang. The victims’ bodies are found in bizarre states, and the crime scenes yield almost no useful clues, leaving the police at an impasse.

Lin Yan, fresh out of the police academy, joins the task force on her own initiative, relying on her keen powers of observation and precise grasp of criminal psychology. Facing doubts from veteran detectives, the killer’s taunts, and the complex web of interests behind the cases, she holds her ground and painstakingly unravels the clues. From trace evidence in an abandoned factory to secret relationships in an office tower, then to the truth behind a cold case from more than a decade ago, Lin Yan inches closer to the heart of the crimes.

Every battle of wits with the killer is a fight for life and death; every breakthrough in a case comes with a test of human nature. With no superpowers to rely on, only rigorous deduction and fearless resolve, Lin Yan leads her team in tearing away the city’s false facade, letting justice shine in the darkness and bringing every criminal to justice.
