Reunited in a Chaotic Age: The Blood-Red Rose After Our Childhood Sweetheart Withered

On the Shanghai Bund, where war rages and neon lights mingle with gun smoke, fate brings Jiang Shang and Liu Ruyan together again after twenty years apart. Once childhood sweethearts who were inseparable, they have become very different people: he is a wealthy businessman who rules the world of commerce but is known for his womanizing ways, while she is a fallen young lady whose family has declined and who struggles to survive in a world torn by war. The years between them and the gulf in their circumstances fill their reunion with testing and suspicion. Yet the feelings buried deep in their hearts quietly rekindle with each clash, and love begins to grow in the cracks of a war-torn age. But the chains of an arranged marriage cruelly separate them, forcing them onto different paths. When artillery fire shatters the city's peace and their homeland is in peril, they put aside their personal grievances and tangled feelings to become comrades in arms, protecting the country they share. Amid flying bullets and crumbling walls, they witness both the good and evil in human nature and the dangers facing their homeland, while taking another look at their feelings for each other. Above the ruins, with the flames of war still burning, can they seize the last moments of tenderness in this turbulent age and overcome every obstacle to bring their love, weathered by hardship, to a happy ending?
