Feng Shui Master Qiu Yanhan

Qiu Yanhan (also known as Yizhi) was a native of Wenxi County (now part of Shanxi) in the Tang Dynasty. He was a descendant of Cao Wei general Guan Qiujian. He was a famous Feng Shui master in the Tang Dynasty and was revered as the second generation Feng Shui master. He studied under Fan Yuefeng, inherited Guo Pugu's Kanyu theory, and integrated Yi studies and Yin-Yang Shushu. He once obtained the "Cape Sutra" in Mount Tai and created a unique Feng Shui system. He was known for his literary talent in his early years. During the Yonghui period, he traveled to the mountains and rivers to study Kanyu. During the Kaiyuan period, he predicted the "Emperor Qi" while surveying the cemetery for the Pei family in Hedong. He was hunted for violating the imperial court. Later, he presented "Tianji Sushu" and was pardoned by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and granted the title of Ya Dafu. The location of the Pei family's tomb is reported to be related to the emergence of dozens of prime ministers and generals from this clan. In his later years, he traveled around the country to predict his burial and passed away in a foreign land. His theory was passed down and developed by Yang Junsong and influenced the Southeast Feng Shui school. There are extant manuscripts such as "Stealing the Secret of the Sky", and later generations in Wenxi County built the "Sanxian Cave" to commemorate it.
