Forbidden Twin Spirit Devouring: The Three Realms, the Immortal Grass, and the Broken Jade Pendant

On the night the blood moon hangs in the sky, twins are born.

Amid the ruins of scorched earth, Cheng Yetao clutches half of a broken wooden token carved with the character “Cheng” and listens to Fatty Brother’s dying words: “Don’t trust the Yan family.” Behind the high walls of a grand estate, Yan Luomintian gently strokes the broken jade pendant her mother left behind, while her tutor sighs: “That is the calamity written into your fate.”

A prophecy spreads across the three realms: a Devourer of Spirits will consume the spiritual power of heaven and earth. Only by killing it with the one chosen by fate can the world be saved.

He crawls out of the mire and awakens a forbidden blood pact, feeding on remnant spirits as he rebuilds the Cheng family atop its ruins. She blossoms in a cage, bearing a secret art for slaying spirits. Torn between family and duty, she ultimately becomes the Yan family’s one and only blade.

They first meet in the wilderness. He drives off a demon beast for her, and she gives him medicinal herbs for his wounds, neither knowing that their families are sworn enemies. They meet again on the battlefield. He protects her as they fight against the Heavenly Palace, and she betrays her clan for him, even knowing that loving each other means death.

When the blood moon returns and the forbidden power spirals out of control, Cheng Yetao gazes at the devastation across the three realms and smiles at Yan Luomintian, sword in hand. “This is fine.”

The blood pact shatters, the jade pendant cracks, and two points of light merge into heaven and earth. They offer their love as a sacrifice, trading it for a world without spiritual power and a future in which they will never meet again.

All that remains on the scorched earth is an immortal grass swaying in the wind, like an unspoken wish: “If there is another life…”
