The Brahma Sea Archives: An Elegy for Civilization

When the universe's ultimate law, “Entropic Extinction,” quietly descends, erasing thriving civilizations one by one and reducing them to cold stardust, who will remember that they ever existed?

Xun Lu is a civilization archivist at the Brahma Sea Database. His mission is to pilot the lonely Stardust Ferry through star systems on the verge of annihilation, gathering every memory, cultural treasure, and fading echo of a civilization's soul in its final moments, preserving them as eternal data in the universe's ultimate archive.

He has encountered all manner of strange species and witnessed countless magnificent rises and falls. He should have been history's most faithful scavenger and most detached observer, abiding by the First Iron Rule: “Never interfere.”

Yet, just before a civilization that spoke in “light” disappeared, an impossible “question” was transmitted directly into his mind, and an unauthorized “seed” was planted in his archive.

“If the observer is part of the System, isn't your noninterference a lie?”

With the rules broken, the observer drawn into the game, and the universe's “death” revealed not to be the end, Xun Lu is forced onto an illicit path in search of the truth. He will discover that the “history” he preserves may be the only key to resisting “Entropic Extinction.”
