Lord of the Empty City: Building Another World from Scratch

During an extreme transmigration, Bian Kongcheng fell into an uninhabited region of another world, with nothing but a strange watch counting down on his wrist.

From the start, he faced two suns hanging in the sky and a purple sandstorm that devoured everything. On the brink of death, he activated a faulty infrastructure-building System.

The System could scan for resources, but it kept producing errors. He traded for a cement formula only to find he lacked sulfur, and built a windmill only to attract a sand-sea behemoth.

He took in an old hunter cast out by his tribe, used crude steelmaking to resist elemental corrosion, and fought magical creatures for water with gears and ingenuity.

As the countdown reached zero, a floating black pyramid appeared. A civilization from another world had discovered the lights of a lone city in the desert

Bian Kongcheng stood atop his homemade city wall, with wind turbines and a steam locomotive roaring behind him:

“Welcome to New Chang'an. Want to tear it down? Ask my homemade cannon first!”
