Arcadia, the Eternal City of Terra

In the Eternal City of Arcadia, memories are not intangible things from the past. They can be extracted, crystallized, and traded as physical substances called “Soul Dust.” It fuels the city’s splendor while nurturing the darkness at its foundations. The “Purified” of the upper city consume other people’s memories to prolong their lives, experience emotions, and gain knowledge. Meanwhile, the “Sourceborn” of the lower city toil and forget, day after day, until they become fields ripe for harvest. This is a world that burns souls for fuel. And our story begins with a grain of Soul Dust that should not exist, and a scavenger who cannot remember who he is.
