Starting Out in a Ruined Temple: A Transmigrant’s Survival in the 1950s

Modern young man Wang Yuan accidentally transmigrates into a book, waking up in the body of a poor, rugged man in the 1950s. From the start, all he has is a dilapidated temple and a few meager plots of farmland. But he comes with a “Get Rich System.” Drawing on his knowledge of the era’s trends and the System’s help, he starts by growing cotton and steadily rises from rags to success.

When he sets up a cotton mill, he faces all kinds of obstacles, including malicious accusations from rival Deng Meng, a shortage of funds, and technical challenges. But with intelligence and perseverance, Wang Yuan uncovers evidence of Deng Meng’s crimes, secures investment, and leads the workers in overcoming technical hurdles. He cares not only about the factory’s growth but also about the workers’ lives, establishing a school for their children, a hospital, and a mutual-aid fund.

Along the way, Wang Yuan finds true love and joins hands with Nan Wangshu. In the end, he grows a small cotton mill into a vast business empire. “Red Star” products sell across the country and even overseas, becoming a legend of the era, while he also leads his fellow villagers to a life of prosperity.
