The Green Code

The Qingtian Rice-Fish Co-Culture System in Zhejiang is a pilot project for protecting a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. It was among the first sites designated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, becoming China's first World Agricultural Heritage site.

Told through a cast of characters, this story follows Ji Rou, a confused college graduate. After returning to Longxian Village, she teams up with Chen Yingxu, an overseas Chinese who has struggled to find success abroad, and Zhao Anfu, a Taobao shop owner whose sales are poor. Together, they become "new farmers" and start a business.

Drawing on their intelligence and ingenuity, they overcome all kinds of difficulties and advance agricultural innovation in the Qingtian Rice-Fish Co-Culture System in Zhejiang, making scientific and sound improvements to optimize it.

Then, responding to a call to action, the three extend the "rice-fish co-culture system" into every aspect of daily life. They set out to build a village renowned for its premium rice and fish products, protecting the environment while increasing villagers' incomes and achieving "harmony between humanity and nature."

With courage and resolve, the three take on the responsibilities and mission of the new farmer, putting into practice the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets."
