Suspect in the Line of Duty

In 2017, a mining disaster tore several families apart. Four years later, everyone connected to the tragedy became linked by a string of murders known as the "Survivors' Gamble." Among them were a criminal investigator, a reporter, a rich second-generation heir, a nurse, a student, a delinquent teenager... Peng Chuyan, a rookie criminal investigator who inherited his father's police badge number, would face alone a host of social ills in modern society: online violence, school bullying, domestic violence, Chinese-style parenting, workplace pressure, slander spread at little cost, indifferent onlookers, the brutal killing of animals, and irresponsible media coverage... Peng Chuyan's story takes place in everyday life and is closely connected to every one of us.
