Thirty Years of Reading
1. I've been reading for a long time and have pretty discerning tastes. 2. To me, a good book has fluent prose (the bare minimum), a rich vocabulary, a style that fits its world (no jarring genre mashups), consistent logic, and well-rounded characters, without pointless filler. Once it meets these basic requirements, telling a good story makes it a great book. 3. I'm an avid reader who likes to let books build up before reading, so I don't recommend short books. 4.
