Behold My Shadow

People are always afraid of ferocious, clawing ghosts. But the ghosts Cha Yue Mengsu meets are a quiet bunch. She is an author who writes down her thoughts, with a clear and lovely appearance and words that ensnare the soul. Her readers never shout at her to update or pressure her to rewrite the plot. They always say, "Your life is yours to live. We would never force you." They simply stand at a respectful distance, smiling as they watch. They remember trivial things she mentions in passing and catch every emotion between the lines. Like shadows, they never touch or make a sound, yet cling to her relentlessly and never fade away. Gentleness is their shell; obsession is their core. They read her stories, peer into her life, and linger beneath the ink for a long, long time. When she looks back, that gaze is always there.
