The Eight-Faced Vajra

The epic novel Eight-Faced Vajra spans four volumes and draws on legends of the Eight Great Guardian Vajras of the East.

The demonic miasma of the Abyss of Wuwang leaks out, while the Demon Lord of the Delusive Ruins stirs up turmoil across the Eight Domains. The eight Vajras each guard their own territories and struggle with inner demons. After enduring countless trials, they confront their obsessions through trials in the mortal world, unite their strength, and learn to work together as the Eight-Faced Vajra. As danger pierces the rifts in space, they forge symbiotic divine machines and face the backlash of their power, then venture into the vast sea of stars to battle the chaos of the universe.

The story gradually shifts from native mythology to interstellar science fiction, then to reflection on interstellar civilization. The eight gods journey from protectors who save the world to ultimately returning their shared faith to all living beings. With no central romance and an ensemble cast, it explores guardianship, the limits of power, and the legacy of civilization, creatively transforming traditional culture into grand-scale science fiction.
