Shh!

A single “shh” does not mean be quiet. It means:

Don’t speak. Don’t ask. Don’t make a sound. Stay alive.

Every truth is forbidden. Every secret can kill. Every word spoken brings disaster.

[Urban suspense + hidden rules + a world of lies + dark fate + breakout protagonist + turning the tables against the odds]

In a nutshell:

This world has one unbreakable rule: whoever dares speak certain secrets dies.

I’m the only one who can hear the world’s truth. Everyone else can only keep quiet and stay alive. I’m the only one who dares to stay silent while secretly turning the world’s lies upside down.

I’m Shen Mo, a born “listener beyond the veil.”

I hear whispers no one else can hear;

I see truths no one else can see;

I have to touch taboos no one else dares approach.

The whole world is shushing me, telling me to keep quiet.

But I’m going to expose every last secret.

I look up and say three quiet words:

“Stop shushing me.”

Everything terrifying in this world is hidden in one sound:

Shh!

I won’t be shushed. I’m going to speak.
