Golden Sands Key

In 2049, Chengdu, the global “capital of sci-fi esports,” builds the world's first floating esports arena directly above the Jinsha archaeological site, hosting an interdimensional interstellar esports league. The domestic quantum engine used in the competition unexpectedly resonates with a high-dimensional information field from the ancient Shu kingdom, buried beneath the Jinsha site for 3,000 years. The Bronze Sacred Tree, the Golden Sun Bird, and the Golden Mask become the ultimate dungeons in the esports world, while the players' commands somehow activate energy singularities in the real-world ruins of the ancient Shu kingdom.

The breakneck pace of elite esports clashes with Chengdu's deeply rooted slow-living culture. The key to solving the ancient Shu dungeons isn't cutting-edge gaming gear or lightning-fast reflexes, but the “three blows and three sips” of tea from a lidded bowl in an old teahouse, and ancient Shu legends passed from mouth to mouth in the patrons' lively conversations. In the end, the star player of a top team finds, amid the unhurried pace of an alleyway teahouse, a state of mind in harmony with the ancient Shu civilization, and completes a trial that spans civilizations.
