So What If I Make Terrible Movies? I Just Want to Lose Money

Lu Hao has a loss-making System: the more money he loses, the greater the rewards.

So Lu Hao sets out to make terrible movies and lose money.

He makes Mr. and Mrs. Smith in Dongba District, gets roasted online for being sleazy, and sees it pulled after just three days. The total loss comes to 200 million.

He makes L.O.R.D.: Legend of Ravaging Dynasties with a total investment of 500 million. After a month in theaters, it has earned less than 100 million, leaving Lu Hao down more than 400 million.

He makes Shanghai Fortress, and the entire internet calls him the worst director in Chinese entertainment. The film is forcibly pulled after a week, costing him 500 million.

After ten years of making terrible movies, Lu Hao's personal fortune has climbed into the tens of billions.

A reporter asks in an interview, “Director Lu, you've made so many terrible movies. Why do you keep going? Are you ignoring everyone's criticism?”

Lu Hao shoots back, “What's wrong with making terrible movies? I just want to lose money!”
