Research on Semiotics of Internet Literature

Wang Xiaoying

189K0

The rise of online literature, especially online novels, is an important cultural phenomenon with Chinese characteristics. It not only needs to be understood in a certain social and cultural background, but also needs to be explored from its own characteristics and production methods. As a commensurable humanities and social science research method, semiotics facilitates the pursuit of meaning mechanisms from the perspective of formal culture. The rules in the online literature field revolve around the "popularity" of readers, which deprives the rights of traditional "gatekeepers" while constructing a new evaluation system. The writing behavior and textual narrative of online novels subsequently exhibit intersexual characteristics aimed at establishing an intimate relationship with readers. The injection of capital into literary websites and the network platform production paradigm link the evaluation system with consumption power, further clarifying the rights subjects in the online literature field as consumers among readers. The gender identity distinction in online novel texts has always been relatively obvious. The personality of a single-gender subject is inversely proportional to the downward movement of the author's posture as the writing subject. There are two sources of value for online literature: first, the literary value of the novel text itself; second, the communication and identity value surrounding the novel text. There is no distinction between the two, and the latter is difficult to provide through non-network literature.

Southern Geographical Space and Political Imagination in Toni Morrison's Novels

Zhang Yinxia

178K0

This book mainly takes the geographical space of the American South in the novels of African American writer Toni Morrison as the entry point to study the relationship between the specific writing of geographical space and the political imagination of the work. This book explores Morrison's novels from four aspects: the relationship between black youth's physical practice and racial identity, historical memory and political ideals, the ethical concerns of diaspora groups in the era of globalization, and the special significance of the American South to contemporary black groups under the perspective of modernity. The study found that the southern geographical space in Morrison's novels has obvious political imagination and appeal. From the early shaping of the black spiritual home to the mid-term exploration of diverse residential areas, to the later conception of an ideal home, the meaning of this space shows a tendency to return from the later to the early stages, making the writer's spatial conception of the American South form an approximate ring structure. Finally, this book believes that the fictional American South embodies Morrison's concern for the historical and realistic situation of the black group and his emphasis on black culture. The three-dimensional and diverse space exploration in the work also presents the writer's complex mentality as a minority elite while defending the interests of the ethnic group and the nation-state.

National identity is one of the important topics of current concern in the field of social sciences. The national identity of the United States includes civil identity and national identity. It has long adhered to the orthodoxy of WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) as the national identity, and granted citizenship to ethnic minorities based on their degree of naturalization, making the country an exclusive and hierarchical political community, causing conflicts among African Americans in national identity. Gwendolyn Brooks is an important African American poet in the 20th century. "Flowers of Fury" is a metaphorical summary of her poetic life: her exquisite skills integrating modernism and black dialect tradition, and her radical thoughts that actively intervene in black liberation. This book systematically combs Brooks' poetry creation spanning the 1940s to the 1990s, combining the race relations model, black social movements, racial political trends in the United States in different periods, as well as the poet's own poetic evolution, summarizing the spatial form, spatial experience, and spatial cognition in a specific period, and expounding the different demands and strategic construction of national identity directed by spatial narratives. Through Brooks's consistent research on the dynamic relationship between spatial narrative and national identity, this book summarizes the poet's artistic aesthetics, poetic concepts, and social thoughts, and uses this as a prism to examine the issue of national identity in contemporary American society and its historical evolution.

Liu Rongen (1908-2001) was a new poet, book critic, translator, good at painting, and a lover of Western classical music. He has been rarely mentioned for a long time. He is a poet who has not been discovered by the history of modern literature or the history of new poetry. However, in recent years, some modern literature researchers, especially young scholars, have begun to pay attention to it. Liu Rongen published a total of six poetry collections before 1949. Such rich creations were rare at the time. Because Liu Rongen went to the UK in 1948, the research community has little understanding of his situation; his collection of poems has been printed in very few copies and has been lost in most libraries, making it even more difficult to find them all. This book compiles all six of the poet's works, which provides researchers with convenience for research and is also a meaningful rescue of such lost new poetry documents.

"Revolution" runs through the social, historical and cultural process of China in the 20th century, and has a great impact on the generation, dissemination and acceptance of new poetry. "Revolution" is both the reference and the object of research on new poetry. However, the existing research results are mostly under the shadow of traditional revolutionary concepts and lack transcendence. There is a lack of research on the complexity and richness of the revolutionary discourse of new poetry. The significance of "revolution" to new poetry is: first, revolution as the external situation of new poetry; second, revolution as the core vocabulary of new poetry writing and expression of the universal pursuit of modern Chinese poetry; third, revolution as the characteristic consequence of new poetry. Revolutionary discourse includes a set of related vocabulary with revolution as the core word, and also includes the production, dissemination and effectiveness of this set of vocabulary in society. "Discourse" is a structure of linguistic expression as well as a behavior or practice. The influence or role of revolutionary discourse in the generation and development of modern Chinese literature, especially new poetry, has not yet been fully recognized or explained. Based on the comprehensive review, this topic selects eight representative new poetry poets, including He Qifang, Bian Zhilin, Feng Zhi, Ai Qing, Lu Yuan, Fei Ming, Xu Yunuo, and Mu Dan, to carefully read and analyze their poetry creation and poetic concepts, and combine each person's literary life and poetry creation experience to explore the complex impact of revolutionary discourse on creation, dissemination, and acceptance, thereby exploring the construction and practice of the poetics of revolutionary discourse in New Poetry over the past century and modern Chinese poetry. This topic combines macro theory with case study, historical analysis and realistic concern, and uses revolutionary discourse as the key words to explain the evolution trajectory, characteristics and enlightenment of modernity in China over the past century.
