About This Novel

Zhu Tingzhen's "Xiaoyuan Poetry Talk" in the late Qing Dynasty combines the best of ancient and modern times, deepens traditional propositions, and collects the culmination of previous poetic theories. It is known as "the crown of ancient Yunnan literary theory" and has high theoretical value. This book is based on Zhu Tingzhen's "Xiaoyuan Poems and Talks (Mr. Xiaoyuan's own banknote edition)" in the sixth year of Guangxu's reign (1880) in the Yunnan Library, and is based on the first edition of the Yunnan Series in the tenth year of Guangxu's reign (1884). Drawing on the experience of predecessors such as Guo Shaoyu and Zhang Guoqing, we supplemented the shortcomings of the existing edition, and used a combination of proofreading and annotation to explain the names of people, places, proper nouns in literary theory, religious nouns, etc. Involved in Xiaoyuan's poems. The compilation and publication of this book will be of great value to the study of ancient Yunnan literary theory.
