Stuart Hall (1932-2014), British cultural studies scholar. He graduated from Oxford University in his early years and founded "University and Left Review" in the mid-20th century. He was one of the core figures of the first generation of the New Left in the UK. In the mid-1960s, he joined the Center for Contemporary Cultural Studies at the University of Birmingham and served as director of the institution. He has made many achievements in the field of cultural studies.
