Choose Your Neighbor with a Mental Illness

The Time-Space Transmigration Bureau assigns its employees all kinds of missions. Hua Jianli's assignments are fairly normal: he just has to be someone's neighbor.

But he's not exactly normal himself.

-

Coordinator: “Mr. Hua Jianli, your new mission has begun. Please use your initiative. We'll turn your movements into text, and readers' ratings will become your points.”

“Now, choose your birthplace and identity.”

Hua Jianli studied a map of Yokohama for a while. “People live in the dump? Is that some new way to look cool?”

“No, I want to live in the dump too. Build me a mansion there.”

“As for my identity, just make me number one on Yokohama's must-eat list.”

Coordinator: “?”

Number one on the must-eat list in a dump? Do you think people in Yokohama have really questionable taste?

-

“Your next mission is starting now.” The coordinator said, “Please, try to act normal this time.”

Hua Jianli looked at a map of the Gojo family estate. “This mission area is pretty small.”

“Look at this huge mansion. Doesn't it look like a haunted house? I think it's haunted.”

Coordinator: “There are no ghosts, only curses. Those people exorcise curses for a living.”

Hua Jianli nodded. “Well, there is one now. Let me in. I want to be the world's first ghost. I'll start parkouring while they're asleep.”

Coordinator: “.”

Just asking to be beaten up.

-

“Your third mission.” The coordinator said, “I can't wait to see what you do this time.”

Hua Jianli looked at a map of Beika Town. “There's an agent here.”

The coordinator said nothing.

“It's even a slice-of-life mystery series.”

The coordinator still said nothing.

Hua Jianli folded the map. “I'll be an ace agent in the Dragon Group. I just want to spend my days dipping beans in sauce and enjoying myself. My brain's not cut out for solving mysteries.”

The coordinator breathed a sigh of relief.

Later, the coordinator realized that sigh had come too soon.
