The Princess Consort

She was the Grand Princess, a woman with power over the entire court. On her wedding night, however, she discovered that the person she had married was no prince consort, but a beautiful woman.

Xiao Mingzhao was decisive and ruthless all her life, but she could never bring herself to harm the person beside her.

She gripped the delicate chin of her "prince consort" and said in a low, cold voice, "The crime of deceiving the emperor is punishable by the extermination of your entire clan."

Lin Yanci closed her eyes and waited to die, only to hear the Grand Princess give a soft laugh.

"But I insist on protecting you."

From then on, at court, she was a cool and dignified top scholar.

Within the palace, she was the most pampered caged bird in the Grand Princess's hand.

"Your Highness, why don't you kill me?"

Xiao Mingzhao's fingertips brushed her reddened eyes, her gaze dark and inscrutable.

"Because I... saw through your disguise before anyone else in the world."

It turned out that at their first meeting in the plum grove three years ago, the Grand Princess had already remembered the little girl who had been crying in secret.

A cool top scholar disguised as a man x a calculating Grand Princess who plans every step

She thought she was the one moving the pieces, but she had long since become a prisoner in the princess's game.

"Lin Yanci, you can't escape."

"I... never intended to."
