Big Sister Isn't Being Good Again

Shi Jiayan spent eighteen years as the cherished eldest daughter of the Shi family, elegant and refined, the brightest jewel in North City.

Until a girl named Gu Qingning was brought back.

Everyone was waiting for a show: watching the fake phoenix get crushed into the dirt by the real heiress and leave in disgrace.

Shi Jiayan was ready, too. She quietly packed her things, planning to make a dignified exit.

But when the social elite mocked and harassed her, Gu Qingning, usually so cool and silent, stepped forward and put an arm around her shoulders. Her gaze swept across the room, her voice as cold as ice:

"Anyone who touches my sister's things will die."

In that moment, Shi Jiayan saw a nearly scorching obsession in her eyes.

Later,

Shi Jiayan thought this was just a more sophisticated way for Gu Qingning to get revenge.

She kept her distance and avoided her, but on a rainy night, Gu Qingning still cornered her against a wall.

Soaked to the skin, Gu Qingning's eyes burned with a fire that could consume anyone. She cupped Shi Jiayan's face, her voice hoarse:

"You think I came back for this cold Shi family?"

"I came back for you."

"Shi Jiayan, I've pretended to be a stranger for eighteen years. I've had enough."

It turned out that the fateful switch had cast the wrong person as the protagonist from the very beginning. The real story was about her crossing mountains and seas to return to the one she loved.
