Eloping on a Rainy Night: Don't Look Back

They fall in love after an arranged marriage. The gong is handsome and the shou is beautiful. The shou has a child with the gong's eldest brother, but the brother is mostly just a background character.

Meng Xi resented his arranged marriage and the Omega from the countryside.

On the day of the wedding, he selfishly fled overseas, where he stayed for two years.

He only returned when his grandfather fell gravely ill.

Before he had a chance to bring up a divorce, he discovered that his arranged-marriage partner was Tao Ye, the Omega he had fallen in love with at first sight overseas.

Fate had been kind to him.

The man he had been promised to since childhood was now his lawful partner.

Everything could fall into place again.

Before the wedding, Tao Ye didn't know which young master of the Meng family he was going to marry. His fiance had never shown his face.

His mother said, "The most handsome, most beautiful man at the wedding will be him."

On the wedding day, he watched a handsome man in a sharp suit surrounded by a crowd. Whenever their eyes met, the man gave him a reassuring look.

It had to be him.

There couldn't be a more beautiful man. It had to be him.

The wedding was missing so many formalities, and even the groom was absent.

The well-dressed guests smiled like a row of masks, papering over the cracks.

Tao Ye knew nothing. He only knew that getting married meant sleeping together.

After waiting a long time in the bridal suite, he finally went to stand at the top of the stairs.

"You've been waiting a long time."

He grabbed the confused-looking man, who smelled of drink, and pulled him into the bridal suite.

Meng Xi witnessed that elopement in the rain with his own eyes.

His eldest brother, and his lawful partner.

Their plan was interrupted by their grandfather's sudden death.

In their pain and turmoil, they embraced each other recklessly and lost themselves in one another.

Until at last, calm returned.

Meng Xi felt that fate had not been kind to him after all.
