Mika once had a happy family. He was the eldest son of Count Howard of the Tairande Empire, born into a prominent family. His father was kind, his younger sister was adorable, and he was about to graduate from Norton Academy and go on to university. His future was bright.

Then one day, a man entered their lives.

He was the most powerful man Mika had ever seen. He had long, pale hair and cold, green, beastlike eyes. He was so beautiful, and yet so cruel.

He was the dangerous, heretical creature hunters spoke of, the vampire of legend.

This man destroyed Mika's family and toyed with his life as he pleased.

Mika endured every humiliation, humoring and flattering him as much as he could, while secretly joining the Heresy Tribunal as a hunter and waiting for his chance to take revenge.

"You really are the child I had the most faith in. I lost. Eat me, inherit my power, and become the new king."

When Mika finally defeated the man, he looked at his pale hair and that dangerous, captivating face.

In that moment, deep in his heart, alongside anger and satisfaction, he felt something else: a fascination and admiration he had never realized was there.

When Mika joined forces with Lucifer's children to betray him, Lucifer wasn't surprised.

He was a creature born of hatred, and his power came from such extreme love and hate.

He had long grown tired of these thousands of years. Whoever devoured him could inherit all his power and become the new vampire prince.

But, unexpectedly, no one did. After taking his revenge, Mika used his overwhelming strength to kick Lucifer's children away, then locked Lucifer up.

Mika: My lord, when you look at my face, are you thinking of me, or of the wife you once loved?

The children: Father, we'll definitely come back to rescue you.

Lucifer: ?

This story was originally planned as the third small world in An Unconventional Cannon Fodder. For various reasons, I've decided to write it as a standalone novel, with more detailed characterization and worldbuilding.
