Born Beautiful

Blurb:

A massacre wipes out the Zhou family. The head of the family and his wife both die, leaving behind only their frail young son.

Gu Che adopts Zhou Shaotang, the son of an old friend, and settles him in the Gu residence in Hong Kong.

He adopts him to have a living reminder of someone he misses. If desire takes root, he'll make him his lover; if affection grows, he'll want to keep him trapped by his side forever.

At first, Gu Che just wanted a handsome, respectable adopted son. Later, he wanted a canary who understood him.

Then his sons said: They wanted one too.

["To love one person all your life is shallow. They call it eternal fidelity, but I call it habitual laziness or a lack of imagination.", Oscar Wilde]

Reading Notes:

1. Hong Kong style, set in Hong Kong in the last century.

2. Zhou Shaotang is the male lead. His ambition reaches the heavens, but his fate is fragile as paper. Born bad, but born beautiful.

3. This is self-indulgent food I've made for myself. There are too many potential triggers to list. If something bothers you, run. Don't hesitate.

The only two things I'm sure of: no top/bottom role reversal, and no self-insert fantasies. Stay away from me, stay away from me!
