The Day I Ran an Ugly Cat Bot

Because I have a truly ugly cat at home, I run an ugly-cat bot account online.

My cat is great, just a little ugly. At first, a few of its ugly pictures went viral, and I rewarded it with lots of canned food.

The account was doing pretty well, with plenty of submissions, but things gradually got out of hand.

First, the ugly-cat bot turned into a pretty-cat bot. Owners tried every trick to submit ugly photos first, then show off their cats' pretty pictures in the comments.

I put a stop to that in time.

Then the ugly-cat bot turned into a bad-cat bot. Netizens tried to prove that "beauty is only skin deep" and that ugly cats were bad cats.

I put a stop to that in time.

After that came a flood of ugly dog pictures in the spirit of "cats and dogs go together," complaints from people insisting, "If you'll accept ugly dogs, you have to accept bad dogs too," an invasion by the Beagle Victims' Alliance, a war over "how to choose a pet"... And then one day,

I opened my DMs and got smacked in the face by a distorted picture of a real person.

Me: ...?

Submitter: Bad cat! Ugly cat! Stinky cat! Cats must be punished!

Me: ...?

Does anyone remember that this is an ugly-cat bot?

After transferring schools, I met that ugly cat. No, no! A real person!

He was cheerful and warm, with a great sense of boundaries, and sometimes a little suggestive.

He's obviously a super handsome kitty!

tips:

1. A lighthearted, everyday sweet romance, told in first person. Mainly Haikyu!!, with a few other series as background cameos.

2. Inspired by the Ugly Cat and Ugly Snake bots, where people submit pictures of cats and snakes to each other.

3. The heroine plays tennis and will become a team manager, but mostly she's here to give the Nekoma cats a little tennis-themed shock.
